Making the Cultural & History Center a Reality

We are presently raising money for the purchase of land in downtown Mt. Horeb in which to situate the Cultural & History Center. We are depending on a broad range of support, starting right here at home. If you are proud of where you live and want others to learn about you, your cultural offerings, or the rich history of southwestern Dane County, then look below for exciting ways to contribute. If you have left the area and have fond memories you wish to see preserved, we need you as well. If you are new to the area and want to meet dynamic and fun people, then welcome aboard! The following are ways you can help:
Contribute Monetarily: We need large and small gifts immediately. There are many ways to contribute; from IRA distributions to memorials made in the name of loved ones. Click Here> to Check out our Charitable Giving page on this web-site for helpful and creative ideas.
Create a challenge gift: Challenge your neighbors, coworkers, or friends, to match your gift. This can be a fun and rewarding way to make a contribution.
Host an event: There are many creative ways to sponsor an event that will get others involved, from house parties to auctions, raffles to school reunions, family gatherings and sporting competitions.
Become a member: The Historical Society currently has 250 members, 95 of these are life members. Membership entitles you to notices of special events and programs sponsored by the Society. You will also receive the newsletter “Mt. Horeb Past Times” three to four times annually. You will acquire voting rights at the annual meeting, and you will share in the pride of knowing you are supporting the preservation of local culture and history. Sign up today on our handy membership form in this issue. Click Here For Membership Form.
Volunteer: There are currently more than 40 volunteers who support the programs of the Society, from giving service one day a month at the museum to one day a week at the Archive. Volunteers are also needed during our fundraising campaign. Call Laurie Boyden on Mondays at 437-6486 to offer your support, or add a note about your talents to the membership form. You may also wish to contact us through our web site at www.mounthoreb.org.
Tell a friend: If you are presently a member, tell a friend of the fun opportunities that await them. If you are reading this newsletter for the first time, pass it along, if you dare to give it up.
Over 32 years the donors and volunteers of the Mt. Horeb Area Historical Society have accomplished much, building an impressive Archive and Museum, around which an active and involved educational community has grown. With wide support, we can realize a Cultural & History Center as well.
