The Historic Donald Farmstead Tour
The Donald Barns

The Donald Farmstead has the original horse barn, built in 1855.

The Horse barn (above) was built in 1892. This 60X38 barn has a large center alley with stalls on either side. At one time, as many as 24 horses were housed in the barn. We have long held an ambition to use this barn for the display of some of the accumulation of Donald Family items that are held by the Mt. Horeb Area Historical Society.

The dairy barn was constructed in 1907. It is 70X34 with a 12X26 wing. 32 stanchions have not held dairy cows for over 25 years. This barn would be the location for any larger horse operation.
